Who I am

meWho I am has not completely been determined as of yet, I continue to keep an open mind to soak up all that intrigues me. For those that want the traditional answer, I’m a 30-something American male living in Panama. People always immediately ask “Why Panama?”  or “How did you end up in Panama?”  The answer is quite simple, because I can! I have always had an infatuation with the Latin culture since I was a boy, growing up in Texas probably played a role in that desire.  I had spent a few vacations in Panama before deciding this is the place I will try to make a new life. There were quite a few different factors I took into consideration before making  Panama my choice, but here I sit, writing these stories.

The How? Getting here was not easy, when I tell the story it sounds like a complete impulse reaction to a mid-life crisis, which it could have been but I assure you this was a long thought out process and well researched plan. In summary, I quit my job, sold my car, my motorcycle, my furniture and donated the majority of my clothes (I basically rid myself of any excess baggage). I boarded the plane with 2 suitcases, no job, no car, and no place to live.

When Socrates was asked where he came from, he said that he was a citizen of the world. He regarded himself as a citizen of the universe. The things that we share in our world are far more valuable than those which divide us. The only real nation is humanity. My country is the world, and my religion is to do good!
